Why is RightsDirect conducting this survey?
Your company holds a RightsDirect license or a VG Wort Digital Copyright License. As part of the license agreement, employees of your firm must participate in an Information Usage Survey every two years. The survey helps ensure publishers, authors, and other copyright holders are compensated fairly for the use of their content. The specific data collected in no way affects the fee your company pays for its license.
What does sharing a publication mean?
For purposes of the survey, “sharing” means the use of any published materials by means of redistribution to others in your company. Distribution may be a photocopy, through email, fax or scanning or posting content to an intranet site. Please note that you need to report the sharing of published information within your company, either in print or digital format. We need to know the number of people to whom you distributed each publication. For intranet sharing please approximate the number of people who have access to the intranet where you posted the material. You should also report any published information shared with government agencies or with customers or prospects provided at their request.
What is the duration of the survey?
You will be asked to complete this survey for 10 business days. You may be periodically reminded to complete this survey by e-mail.
